Today we talk to the very very brave Getchen Carlson Gretchen is a journalist, a whistle blower and an empowerment advocate. She is working to change the laws to give women more voice, and to protect the way they are treated in the workplace. Her bravery and confidence there is changing the face of culture. Gretchen was a prodigy violinist, she was Miss America, and then went on to be on television and become a household name. There really isn't anything that Gretchen doesn't set her mind to that she doesn't accomplish. Background:
Journalist, author, and advocate Gretchen Carlson paved the way for #metoo with her historic 2016 sexual harassment complaint against the chairman of Fox News. Named one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” and author of New York Times bestsellers “Be Fierce” and “Getting Real,” Carlson performed as a soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra at age 13. An honors graduate of Stanford University, in 1989 she became the first classical violinist to win the Miss America crown. Carlson is the first former Miss America to serve as Chair of the Miss America Organization.
